VISAs to attend the conference
Any conference attendee that needs assistance with a VISA to attend the 3rd Advances Against Aspergillosis conference should contact the CME office at ocme@ucsd.edu or (858) 534-3940.

It has come to our notice that the time required for acquiring a US immigration visa to enter the US is now in excess of 3 months, and may be as long as 4 months. If you are planning to attend the meeting, and need a visa, we will offer a rapid acceptance process of abstracts to facilitate your visa application. All abstracts will still go through the same rigorous scientific review, only expedited. Please submit your abstract online as soon as you can (we will accept a single modified abstract up to the abstract deadline). Please also send an e-mail to cfeather@ucsd.edu requesting a letter of acceptance for your visa, with your name and address and title of your abstract. This will be processed rapidly.

An alternative approach for those not planning on sending an abstract, but who would like to attend (which may be less reliable in term of getting a visa) is to e-mail either Dr. Denning (ddenning@manchester.ac.uk) or Dr. Steinbach (stein022@mc.duke.edu) requesting a letter of support. Your e-mail should contain your name, title, work address and any detail on your interest in Aspergillus or aspergillosis that can be pasted into the body of a support letter (e.g. working on Aspergillus for my PhD, treating many patients with aspergillosis, providing a clinical diagnostic service for patients infected with Aspergillus, etc). As a conference we will do all that we can to facilitate your attendance.

Sightseeing and Activities
Sightseeing, tour information and fees will be available at the conference.

Social Event
We have arranged three tours for you to choose from - a boat cruise around Biscayne Bay, a bus tour of Miami and surrounding neighborhoods, and a boat trip to the Everglades. Everyone at the conference is promised one of the tours, but some tours may fill up to capacity sooner than others, as each tour can accommodate a limited number of people. Please choose your tour early when you register for the conference. Attendees that wait to make their choice at the conference will need to choose a tour on a space available basis.

For a special reduced $30 fee, your family and guests are invited to join you on any of the tours. If you would like to explore one of these tours in your free time, please go to the Miami Nice tours website at http://www.miami-nice.com/miami.html or call +1 305 949 9180 for more information.

Special Airfares
Discounted rates with certain providers will be available to conference registrants.

Car Rental
Discounted rates with certain providers will be available to conference registrants.

Cancellation Policy
If your registration must be cancelled, your fee, less $50 for administrative costs, will be refunded upon receiving a signed, written request either by fax or mail by December 16, 2007. No refunds will be made after this date.

Disclaimer
The participant acknowledges that he/she has no right to lodge damage claims against the organizers should the holding of the congress be hindered or prevented by unexpected political or economic events or generally by force majeure, or should the non-appearance of speakers or other reasons necessitate program changes. With registration, the participant accepts this proviso.

Room Sharing
The conference will offer the services of finding a same-sex room-mate for students and others on a small budget in order to share hotel costs. If you would like to share a room, please contact the CME office at (858) 534-3940. We will try to accommodate you.
