Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel

On Friday, February 5th, we have arranged a private tour of the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel, followed by dinner at Ristorante La Fattoria, for attendees and guests.  Buses will depart the Advances Against Aspergillosis conference at 2:00 PM and transport everyone to the Vatican.  After the tour, the bus will return to the Sheraton Roma Hotel.  If you choose not to attend the dinner, you may depart the bus at this time.  If you choose not to go on the tour but would like to attend the dinner, you will board the bus at this time (approximately 7:00 PM)

The Sistine Chapel is the best-known chapel in the Apostolic Palace, the official residence of the Pope in Vatican City. The Sistine Chapel was built in the 15th century as a private chapel for the Popes and remains the location for important Papal ceremonies. It took Michelangelo more than four years to complete the ceiling frescoes commissioned by Pope Julius II. Twenty years later Michelangelo completed his work at the chapel with his masterpiece, the Last Judgment. The Vatican Museum houses over 9 miles of the most extensive collection of art in the world. You will explore the Sistine Chapel and wander Raphael’s Rooms. Be humbled by the imposing beauty of St. Peter’s Basilica, where you will encounter another of Michelangelo’s masterpieces, La Pietà and admire the magnificent St. Peter’s Square.

The private tour includes bus transportation, tour guide, entrance fee and headphones. For those not attending this private Vatican tour arranged through Advances Against Aspergillosis, please be aware that the lines to enter the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel are very lengthy.  As part of this private tour, we will not be waiting.

Note:

The Ristorante La Fattoria

Dating back to 1903, La Fattoria was once dedicated to typical farm life activities. However, in 1964 after careful restoration the original rustic setting have stayed untouched; it has now become a renowned destination to experience the great verity of typical ROMAN culinary tradition.

The dinner includes Appetizer, Pasta, Main Course, Dessert, Mineral Water and Wine.
